Districts

Hanoi is a bustling, vibrant city with many distinct areas.

Many expats choose to live in the Tay Ho area of the city, around the large lake – West Lake – located in the district. Tay Ho can be relatively expensive to live in comparison to other areas and, as a result, growing expat communities are to be found in the Ba Dinh, Doi Can, Long Bien, Hai Ba Trung and Hoan Kiem areas.

In all these areas, both Vietnamese and Western food and some limited Western shops can be found with relative ease.

Hoan Kiem is the main tourist area and as such can be busier. However, this is also where many bars and restaurants can be found. At the weekends the Hoan Kiem Lake area is closed to traffic, which makes for a quiet, relaxed family atmosphere.

LLV public centres are easily accessed from all locations.

The Yen Phu centre is close to Tay Ho, Long Bien, Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem.

The Dai Co Viet centre is easily accessed from Hoan Kiem and Hai Ba Trung, whilst even from Tay Ho, Ba Dinh and Long Bien it is only a 20-25 minute motorcycle ride.

The 34T Hoang Dao Thuy centre is located in Cau Giay. Whist this is a bit further from some areas, it is still only 30 minutes from Tay Ho.

The final centre at Tran Quoc Hoan is also in Cau Giay and is around 20 minutes from Tay Ho.

Schools Link teachers and Schools Elite teachers will travel between schools so will need to find a location that best suits them based on their schedules.
