Language Link is currently seeking Regional Head Teachers (RHT) to join our public schools program, Schools Link!

Schools Link is Language Link’s highly successful English language education program in Vietnamese schools. We currently have over 180 foreign English teachers teaching around 32,000 students in Hanoi’s urban districts. Our programs consistently receive high ratings from students and parents. Our Schools Link program caters to Primary and Secondary students in Hanoi public schools, along with a smaller segment of Secondary and High School students in local private schools.

Contact Hours: The RHT is contracted to work a 44-hour week on-site, normally over a 5-day week from Monday to Friday, morning to early evening. Very infrequent work on weekends if required by the line manager.

Working location: This position is based at Schools Link base centres in Cau Giay, Hai Ba Trung, and Long Bien districts with regular travel to Schools Link partner schools.

Qualifications
● At least three years of experience teaching young learners in a classroom setting. Experience in Vietnamese public schools is a plus.
● Experience in a supervisory, management, or coach/mentor role is desirable
● Bachelor’s degree in any subject.
● CELTA, Trinity TESOL, or equivalent teaching certificate.
● Native English speaker or holder of C2+ proficiency certificate (IELTS, CEFR, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities
● As a Regional Head Teacher (RHT), you will be a fundamental component of the Academic Management Team (ACMAN), working directly with teachers to support their performance in the classroom and also working with the wider ACMAN team to enhance the academic quality of the Schools Link program.
● Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language lessons that meet the needs of your learners, taking into account individual learning styles, and make these lessons available for other teachers to observe in order to support their professional development as teachers. Teaching hours, including cover, can be up to 50 hours per calendar month, but a typical month ranges from 20-30 teaching hours.
● Provide cover as required, including being on call for emergency cover (2nd choice) up to two half days a week.
● Monitor student progress and provide necessary feedback to help manage students’ performance.
● Complete teaching-related administrative tasks (e.g. marking tests, reporting results) in a timely fashion.
● Assist teachers in your assigned region to handle issues that arise. Such issues could include: teaching practice, TA/school relationships, materials and resources, facilities, and life in Hanoi in general.
● Monitor and guide the morale and job satisfaction of the teachers in your region via focus groups, meetings, social events, feedback and response systems, and attentive and active listening.
● Work with the Training and ACMAN team to prepare and deliver sharing sessions and workshops to develop specific teaching competencies throughout the academic year and during induction.
● Attend regular meetings with both internal (teachers, fellow RHTs, and the wider ACMAN team) and external stakeholders (parents, school boards) as required.
● Conduct teacher observations as required during the academic year, delivering high-quality written and verbal feedback to support teachers in their professional development, and complete performance reviews for your teachers at the end of the academic year.
● Assist ACs and the AM in identifying teachers who are over- or under-performing and provide support and guidance to these teachers in order to help them meet the required standards.
● Assist the ACMAN team in identifying high-performing teachers and leading recognition, reward, best-practice sharing, and succession training and pathways for them.
● Engage in frequent face-to-face and phone communication with every teacher in your assigned region. Visit each school in your assigned region at least once per semester.
● Communicate regularly with the academic management team and other departments within the company, which may occasionally require responsiveness outside of typical office hours.
● Support the ACMAN team in conducting interviews for new teachers as necessary.
● Participate in school outreach events (e.g. school assemblies, marketing events, and English competitions.
● Complete development work projects and other relevant tasks as assigned by the ACMAN team.
● Participate in succession training pathways toward further management positions.
